Gili Air · Lombok · Indonesia

Gili Air

A small car-free island between Bali and Lombok: white sand, coral reefs and a slow, friendly rhythm.

01

Snorkelling with turtles

Green and hawksbill turtles feed on the reefs around the island. Grab a mask, walk to the beach and swim out — or join a 3-island boat trip to Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan.

02

Diving

Several PADI dive centres offer try-dives and courses. Shark Point, Halik reef and the Bounty wreck are minutes away by boat.

03

Sunrise and sunset

Watch the sun rise over Lombok’s Mount Rinjani on the east side and set behind Bali’s Mount Agung on the west — the island takes about an hour to walk around.

04

Food

Beach warungs with fresh grilled fish, Italian, Mexican and vegan cafés, smoothie bowls and Indonesian classics — everything is a short cycle away.

05

Yoga & wellbeing

Daily yoga classes, Balinese massage and spa treatments — or have a massage therapist come to the villa.

06

With children

Shallow beaches, no traffic, turtle spotting and horse-cart rides — Gili Air is one of the most relaxed family islands in Indonesia.

Best time to visit: April–October is the dry season with calm seas. November–March brings short tropical showers, greener landscapes and fewer visitors.

Where we are

In a quiet part of Gili Air, away from the bars but close to everything. No cars on the island — walk, cycle or take a cidomo (horse cart).
